SNOW Architects have been designated as a ‘Smarter Planning Champion’ status by the Planning Portal.

SNOW architects meet the Government requirements in following best practice for submitting planning applications via the government’s Planning Portal. This is a beneficial method of submission as it:

  • Helps local planning authorities process our applications more efficiently, and;
  • Reduces carbon emissions throughout the process.
  • Ensures that planning applications get displayed on the relevant Council websites in the best possible manner.

‘Smarter Planning’ is a partnership between planning agents, local planning authorities and the Planning Portal. It is a recognition that the industry needs to work together to streamline and improve the planning process. As a Smarter Planning Champion, SNOW Architects are proud to be part of this process streamlining the submission of planning applications.

Dave Cornett, Director of SNOW architects said: "We are delighted to have been awarded Smarter Planning Champion status. This acknowledges the work we've done to minimise the amount of paper we use as a business and issue to the planning department and the effort we've put in to submitting plans online. Using the portal has helped us reduce our printing and postage costs, whilst offering faster, more efficient services for Clients who also benefit from the cost savings."

This benefits the Client with accurately detailed and concise planning applications allowing the Local Planning Authority (LPA) to fast track ‘Smarter Planning Champion’ submissions. This partnership between SNOW Architects,  LPA’s and the Planning Portal recognises that the industry can benefit from a streamline and collaborative approach.

Since Christmas 2012 SNOW architects have made twelve planning applications online and already received four approvals due to their expertise in Planning Policy, the quality of their designs and 100% success rate. SNOW Architects in top UK Twitter Users

23:04 / Posted by Unknown /

Liverpool based SNOW architects are one of the best to follow on twitter in a chart complied and judged by a leading national architecture publication "Building Design", the award winning Building Design magazine is published weekly, online and in print. It holds regular awards and the latest #BDtwitter100 is part of a number of twitter charts it has compiled for the built environment including most nominated, sustainability and education.

SNOW architects have done exceptionally well this year having been highly placed three categories "#BDTwitter100 2013: top 10 architecture practices", "The #BDTwitter100 2013: the most useful tweeters in architecture" and the number one position in the "#BDTwitter100 2013: the 10 most nominated" to follow on twitter, the most keenly awaited of the Building Design twitter charts and according to the magazine the hardest to compile. They purposely don’t order the group as a result of its diversity from internationally renowned architects to smaller practices.

Building Design stated that to be in the top ten they chose architects that ‘were a good combination of entertaining, influential, responsive, engaging and knowledgeable’. Dave Cornett, Director of SNOW architects is delighted to be in the list and very pleased to be recognised for his use of twitter, ‘I’m very keen to illustrate that all architects and practices are not pretentious, we are real down to earth people in the office and hopefully this comes across in our Social Media efforts. Twitter is a great way for people to learn and build relationships in a virtual world’.

This is another recent accolade SNOW architects has received for its work on twitter and social media, these include :-

  • Winning a BE2 Award for the ‘best use of photo/video’ for its Elmvale Photo Blog - A photoblog will form a diary of the project from start to completion, including the issues that have arisen in the meantime, from derelict function room, to partial collapse to high quality living accommodation
  • Nominated and finishing in the top 5 for the Most Influential Liverpool Twitter Users
  • included in other top 100 lists for The Architects Journal, Property Week.

Top 100 Architecture Tweeters, Polls and Results.. #BDTwitter100 and the forgotten #AJtCn100

Last week saw the relaunch of Building Design's Twitter 100 for 2013. We are pleased to say we've had a great number of nominations so thanks very much...

Bdtwitter100

You can find out more about the "Competition" by viewing the Building Design Website and by following them online at @BDOnline40404040 and @AnnaWinston or follow the Twitter Hashtag #BDTwitter100

Anyway we've been here before as back in the olds days of 2011 a war erupted between the two great architectural publications on launching a "Top 100 architecture tweeters" In fact we actually appeared in the Architects Journal article and the Building Design article.

We were interviewed by the Architects Journal on the question of winning work :-

"Dave Cornett (@snowarchitects62)has been tweeting for 18 months and has won several projects through Twitter, including a fee proposal for a hotel in Lichfield and a feasibility study for a £10 million student housing scheme in Liverpool. He said: ‘We’re a small practice and we don’t have £1,000 to spend on marketing like the large firms. From tweeting about what we do and linking to our website we have had contact out of the blue from potential clients.’ "

What we did notice at the time was a massive surge in people being interactive to try and bump up there Peer Index so it will be interesting to see who still exists and if they've new competition or fell off the Twitter Cliff....

The lists still appear on PeerIndex and for convenience we've embeded them below for you to peruse and perhaps find some new tweeps to follow >>
